Seattle Waterfront

On January 31 I made a one day trip from Billings to Seattle and back to attend a Memorial Service for a former Bellevue Police Lieutenant I worked with.  During that time, I spent a few hours on the Seattle Waterfront - a place I truly miss living inland in Montana.  Here are a few of the photos from that time on Elliott Bay.

As I walked to the pier, since the street is torn up it's no mean feat, I head toward the Ferris Wheel and see where to purchase tickets for the ride.  You can also see the end of the Pier Building that houses several shops and restaurants.  January 31, 2016 at 11;11 am.  (Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi with EF-S 18-55 mm lens [3.5-5.6])  (f/8; 1/320 sec; ISO 400; 30 mm focal length).

This is the next pier with buildings and shops and you can see the end of the barge on which is located the crane seen in other photos of the Ferris Wheel.  This is a waterfront park with seating areas for hanging out.  January 31, 2016 at 11:13 am.  (Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi with EF-S 18-55 mm lens [3.5-5.6])  (f/13; 1/320 sec; ISO 400; 25 mm focal length)

Shooting from the pier to the port with it's container ships and cranes.  This is heading up one side of the Duwamish Waterway.  I spent several years when I was in the Coast Guard Reserve as a team leader for boarding the container ships on that very waterway.  January 31, 2016 at 11:23 am.
